Italy's financial center, business hub and fashion capital, plus one of the world's highly industrialized principal cities, is determinately less easy-going than the laid back touristy whole of Italy. Still, the crowded, noisy, hot in the summer and damp plus foggy in the winter site has its outdoor cafes, atmospheric hidden places and cobbled lanes to stroll through. More expensive than other Italian places, but boasting a thriving night scene, the site might be a good stopover, although not on the prime list such as the iconic Venice, Florence, or Rome. Still, Milan reveals a long and eventful history in a pack of monuments, museums, and religious edifices. The city abounds in art, nevertheless, and houses some artifacts by genius figures, such as the final sculpture of Michelangelo and the Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci. The site’s lively cultural scene encompasses La Scala, the fashion shows, and a long line of night clubs. Milan is also a shopping haven, with dazzling shop windows and sophisticated boutiques. And although the prices might hurt, Milan is a pleasure to get to know.
